Easily export photos as DNG files

New in Lightroom desktop

To export photos as DNG files, do the following:

  1. Open an album or All Photos view and select the photos you want to export.

  2. Press Command (macOS)/Control (Windows)+Shift+E to access the Export screen and select DNG in the File Type list.

    In the Export screen, select DNG as the file type.
    In the Export screen, select DNG as the file type.

    Note:

    The default settings for DNG export are:

    • Use Lossy Compression: Off
    • Preview Size: Medium (1024 px long edge)
    • Embed Fast Load Data: On
    • Embed Original Raw File: Off

    These settings cannot be edited. 

  3. Click Export 'n' Photos in the upper-right corner of the screen ('n' is the number of selected photos).

  4. Select the folder where you want to export the photos to, and you're done!

Import presets and profiles from Google Drive

New in Lightroom for mobile (Android)

To directly import presets or profiles from within the Lightroom app, do the following:

  1. Open a photo in the Edit screen of Loupe view.

  2. Tap the Presets or Profiles icon in the bottom panel.

  3. Tap  and select Import Presets or Import Profiles.

    Note:

    • lrtemplate and xmp presets and dcp and xmp profiles are supported for import. You can also import multiple profiles and presets at once as a zip file. 
    • If you're importing a profile, ensure that it is supported by the camera with which the selected photo was captured. 

  4. Select the presets and profiles you want to import.

    Once the import is complete, you can find the imported files in the Presets and Profiles list.

The imported presets and profiles sync across Lightroom desktop and Lightroom for mobile (iOS) so that you can access them from any device.

Other enhancements

Lightroom desktop

  • Select photos and press Command (macOS)/Ctrl (Windows)+Shift+H for HDR merge and Command (macOS)/Ctrl (Windows)+Shift+M to create a panorama. To know more, see Merge photos to create HDRs and panoramas.
  • Drag and drop photos from your computer directly to a desired album in the Albums panel. 
  • When you contribute photos to shared albums, you can now choose to include keywords, star and flag ratings, and GPS coordinates in the Add Photo dialog box.
  • You can export photos that have been contributed by others in shared albums. This can be done only if the album owner has provided download access to contributors. 
  • Lightroom now autocompletes keywords as you enter them. This helps avoid typos and duplicate keywords.

Lightroom for mobile (iOS)

  • On the iPad, split screen view is now supported.
  • In the Learn section of the Home view, you can start a tutorial and hold the screen any time to view the before and after edits of the photo.
  • Duplicate photos are identified faster and better during import.
  • Experience smoother import of photos from a SD card or camera.

Lightroom for mobile (Android)

  • In the Learn section of the Home view, you can start a tutorial and hold the screen any time to view the before and after edits of the photo.
  • You can now choose to include keywords, star and flag ratings, and GPS coordinates when you contribute photos to shared albums.
  • Export photos in shared albums, provided that the album owner has given download access. 
  • You can now download and install Lightroom from Samsung Galaxy Store. You cannot, however, install the app if you've already installed Lightroom from the Google Play Store.
