Change the language settings of Adobe Acrobat on Windows

Learn how to configure the language settings in the Acrobat desktop application and during the creation of a customized package using the Acrobat Customization Wizard.

Steps to change the language settings in Acrobat

  1. In Windows, go to Control Panel > Programs and Features.

  2. In the list of applications, select Acrobat and then select Change.

  3. Choose Modify and select Next.

  4. Select Languages.

  5. Select the drop-down list to see the languages that you want to install and select the This feature will be installed on the local hard drive option.

  6. Select Install.

  7. Press the Ctrl key on the keyboard and then open Acrobat. You'll receive a pop-up with a drop-down list to choose the language from the list of installed languages.

  8. Select the desired language. Acrobat then opens in the selected language.

Steps to set the application language using the Acrobat Customization Wizard

  1. Download the Acrobat installation zip file and extract the files to a folder.

  2. Download the Acrobat Customization Wizard and install it.

  3. Open the Customization Wizard and select Open Package.

  4. Browse and select the AcroPro.msi file from the extracted Acrobat installation files in Step 1.

  5. Go to Installation Options, and select the Install all languages option. This ensures that Acrobat installs as a multi-language package.

  6. Press the Ctrl key on the keyboard and then open Acrobat. You'll receive a pop-up with a drop-down list to choose the language from the list of installed languages.

  7. Select the desired language. Acrobat then opens in the selected language.
