How do I fix error 506?

To fix the error, work through the following solutions sequentially, proceeding to the next solution if necessary:

We recommend that enterprise users contact their admin before making any changes to their Operating system settings. 

 Enabling sideloading in Windows allows you to install apps from other sources that you trust.

  1. Select the Windows search bar in the lower-left corner of the desktop and search for Developer settings.

  2. In the Developer Mode section, turn On the Install apps from any source, including loose files.

  3. Try to install the app from the Creative Cloud desktop app. 

  1. In Windows search, type in gpedit.msc and then press Enter.

    The Group Policy Editor opens.

  2. In Group Policy Editor, navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > App Package Deployment.

  3. In the right pane, double-click Allow all trusted apps to install.

  4. Select Enabled, and then select OK.

  5. Try to install the app from Creative Cloud desktop app. 

  1. In Windows search, type in regedit.

    Note:

    If you are not comfortable editing your registry, make a backup copy of it by choosing File > Export; name the backup and save it to a location you'll remember.

  2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Appx and change the value of AllowAllTrustedApps to 1.

  3. Proceed to install the app from the Creative Cloud desktop app.
