How do I insert a Watermark.

Solution

How to insert a Watermark or my Watermark not repeating
  1. In RoboHelp HTML menu select FORMAT

  2. From the FORMAT menu select STYLE SHEETS

  3. In the drop down "Style Type" box (bottom left) select "Document"

  4. In the "Style" box (top left) highlight/select the style "Body"

  5. Click the "EDIT" button (top right)

  6. Select the "Background" tab

  7. Make sure the "Background Color" drop down box has "<Undefined>" selected

  8. Click the "..." button at the end of the "Background Image" drop-down box and select the image you want to use for this Watermark.

  9. Select the Repeat, attachment, and Background Position attributes for this Watermark.

    • "Repeat": Determines how a background image is repeated. You can specify to repeat the image both horizontally and vertically.

    • "attachment": Specifies if the image will scroll with the content or if it will be fixed (like a watermark).

    • "Background Position": Defines the initial position of a background image.

    • "Horizontal positions": left, center, and right

    • "Vertical positions": top, center, and bottom

  10. Click the "OK" button

  11. Click the "OK" button

  12. From the RoboHelp HTML menu select VIEW

  13. From the VIEW menu select PANE

  14. From the PANE menu select PROJECT

  15. In the RoboHelp HTML Project Pane right-click on the "Baggage Files" folder and select NEW BAGGAGE FILE

  16. Browse to and select the same image you did in Step #8

  17. From the RoboHelp HTML menu select FILE

  18. From the FILE menu select SAVE ALL

  19. From the RoboHelp HTML menu select FILE

  20. From the FILE menu select CLOSE PROJECT

  21. Open up the Style Sheet you added this Watermark image to into Microsoft Notepad.EXE. See Knowledge Base article #11459 How to edit files in Notepad.

  22. From the Notepad.EXE menu select SEARCH

 If you are running Windows NT:

  • From the SEARCH menu select REPLACE

  • In the "Find what:" box type in "background-repeat : none;" (without the quotes)

  • In the "Replace with:" box type in "background-repeat : no-repeat;" (without the quotes)

  • Click the "REPLACE ALL" button

 If not running Windows NT:

  • From the SEARCH menu select FIND

  • In the "Find what:" box type in "background-repeat : none;" (without the quotes)

  • Click the "FIND NEXT" button

  • Do not close the "Find" dialog box. Type over the highlighted text so that it reads "background-repeat : no-repeat;" (without the quotes)

  • On the "Find" dialog box click the "FIND NEXT" button

  • Type over the highlighted text so that it reads "background-repeat : no-repeat;" (without the quotes)

  • On the "Find" dialog box click the 'X' in the top right corner to close this dialog box

  • From the Notepad.EXE select FILE

  • From the FILE menu select SAVE

  • From the Notepad.EXE menu select FILE

  • From the FILE menu select EXIT

  • From the RoboHelp HTML menu select FILE

  • From the FILE menu select your last opened project. This will be listed as item number one at the bottom of the FILE menu

  • Compile your projects primary target and test this Watermark

NOTE: The WYSIWYG editor will STILL show a repeating background despite you having a non-repeating background in the style sheet. Your Watermark will appear correctly in your primary target. If you make any changes to this Style Sheets background you will have to follow steps 17 through 19 again. These issues has been resolved in RoboHelp HTML Version 9.

NOTE: If your end users have selected in Internet Explorer's Accessibility options to "Ignore colors specified on Web pages" or to "Format documents using my style sheet" then no background colors or images will display when they view your Help system.

To turn off Internet Explorer Accessibility options:

  1. From Internet Explorers menu select TOOLS

  2. From the TOOLS menu select INTERNET OPTIONS

Note: Some versions of Internet Explorer have the INTERNET OPTIONS selection under the VIEW menu

  1. Select the "General" tab

  2. Click the ACCESSIBILITY button

  3. Make sure the "Ignore colors specified on Web pages" option is not selected

  4. Make sure the "Format documents using style sheet" options is not selected

  5. Click the "OK" button

  6. Click the "OK" button
