The Adobe Genuine Service is a free service that periodically verifies whether Adobe apps on your machine are genuine and notifies you if they are not.

What is the Adobe Genuine Service?

The Adobe Genuine Service (AGS) is a free service that periodically verifies whether Adobe apps on your machine are genuine and notifies customers if they are not. The AGS can help protect customer machines from security vulnerabilities and harmful malware that may be present in non-genuine apps.

The service is designed to:

  • Periodically verify whether the Adobe apps installed on your device are genuine.
  • Notify you through pop-ups and in-app notifications if non-genuine Adobe apps are found.
  • Provide detailed information on how to resolve the issue via the notification.
  • Provide access to a specialized customer support team via the notification.

In some cases, Adobe may reach out to you directly to help resolve the issue.

Only genuine Adobe apps and services provide the latest features and functionality, including ongoing access to support and the latest security updates. Therefore, in an effort to block fraudulent activity and help safeguard your machine, Adobe may disable the identified non-genuine Adobe app.
