Adobe Connect screen sharing view appears distorted

During a meeting, the screen sharing view appears distorted, irrespective of the Adobe Connect add-in version in use.

Note:

This article applies to Adobe Connect versions that supports Adobe Connect add-in. Starting Nov 2017, Adobe introduced the new Adobe Connect application for desktop that replaces the old Adobe Connect add-in for Adobe Connect version 9.x and later. If you are on Adobe Connect version 8 or earlier, you can continue to use Adobe Connect add-in.

Issue

The screen sharing view appears distorted on a MacBook.

Environment

  • Adobe Connect Hosted/On-Premise
  • Operating System: Mac OS 10.10.x or higher
  • Adobe Connect add-in 11.9.x or higher

Cause

HD or ultra-HD display with specific system resolution settings might interfere with the functioning of Adobe Connect add-in in certain scenarios.

Resolution

To fix the display, do the following to lower the resolution of your MacBook:

  1. Click the Apple logo at the upper-left corner of the computer.

  2. Click System Preferences, and then Displays.

  3. Select Scaled, and a lower resolution, such as 1600 x 900 or 1280 x 720.

  4. Restart screen sharing through the Connect Meeting Room.
