The Quick Selection tool can help you isolate an object you want to edit or preserve.

Use the Options bar to customize tool settings, like Add to Selection or Subtract from Selection, to get the selection you want.

Click and drag the brush across the area you want to select. As you drag, the tool automatically detects image edges to create a selection for you.
