Issue

When installing the Creative Cloud desktop application, you receive the following error:

Adobe Creative Cloud, needed to resolve the problem, is missing or damaged. You can try to repair to fix the issue. If the problem persists, download and install the new copy from http://www.adobe.com/go/adobecreativecloudapp.

Solutions

Solution 1: Repair Creative Cloud desktop app

Click Repair in the error message to fix the issue.

Solution 2: Uninstall the Creative Cloud desktop app, and then reinstall it

Solution 3: Run the Adobe CC Cleaner Tool

  1. Run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to remove the current installation of the Creative Cloud desktop app. See Run the CC Cleaner Tool.

  2. In the CC Cleaner Tool, choose option 3: Creative Cloud 2015, Creative Cloud 2014, Creative Cloud & CS6 Products. Then choose option 1: Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop.

  3. Rename the following OOBE folders to OOBE.old:

    Windows

     

    • \Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
    • \Users\\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE

    Mac OS

     

    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE

  4. Download and reinstall the Creative Cloud desktop app.  

Solution 4: Reinstall the Creative Cloud desktop app using an administrator account

Create a new local user account with administrator privileges, and log in using that account. Then download and reinstall the Creative Cloud desktop app.
