Biometric Identity Verification with Adobe Acrobat Sign
AwareID is available directly in Adobe Acrobat Sign through the Digital Identity Gateway. Aware’s biometric unique ID verification enables organizations to instantly authenticate signers. This real-time identity verification enhances Acrobat Sign’s e-signature workflow by combining authoritative data checks with industry-leading biometric security.
For users from Brazil holding a CPF Number (Cadastro de Pessoas Físicas), the service will perform a biometric verification of the identity before returning its status and related demographic data.
This feature orchestrates the following capabilities from Aware’s Awareness Platform:
- Unique ID Database Validation
Validates a signer’s unique ID number (CPF Number in Brazil) against private and official government records, confirming identity details such as full name, date of birth, and parental information. - Biometric Liveness Detection
Uses liveness detection technology to confirm the signer is physically present, preventing spoofing attempts with photos, videos, or masks. - Face Matching
Matches a live facial capture to the image on the system of record (CPF databases) to confirm a biometric match with uncompromising accuracy. - KYC (Know Your Customer)
Checks signers against government watchlists, sanctions, and politically exposed persons (PEP) lists for enhanced compliance.
Verified Signature Workflow with Adobe Acrobat Sign
- Signers receive the document to sign via email notification and start the e-Signature workflow by selecting Review and Sign.
- The AwareID service prompts the Signer to confirm the email address, enter the full legal name, and provide the unique ID number (CPF for Brazil).
- The Signer is requested to take a selfie. With that, AwareID performs biometric liveness detection, and validation of the unique ID through face matching.
- Upon successful identity verification and confirmation of the unique ID status, the signer completes the Verified Signature.
- Acrobat Sign also provides a Signer Identity Report containing verification results for compliance and audit purposes.
For Administrators
To activate AwareID for identity verification in Acrobat Sign, an active license from Aware is required. Please review the Digital Identity Gateway documentation for more information on how to set up a digital identity provider for use with Acrobat Sign in your organization.
