The Area Type tool lets you add text to objects.

A text is placed within a heart shape using the area type tool

  1. Select the Area Type   tool.

  2. Click anywhere on the path of an object to type or paste your text.

  3. Double-click the Area Type   tool to open the Area Type Options dialog box. Customize the tool's Width, Height, Columns, Rows, Offset, and Align settings.
