Feature Updates

  • Access 8 new Adaptive Landscape presets, including Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter
  • When you brush over an object using the Detect object tool, Lightroom automatically selects any shadow or reflection with the detection. (Available on Lightroom on desktop and mobile)
  • Fine-tune highlight headroom with the new HDR Limit slider.
  • Experience a better and faster reflection removal while using the Reflection Removal tool. 
  • You can now access in-app tutorials in Lightroom to learn about features. 
  • You can now see a download arrow and a badge when you export an image from Lightroom on mobile.

August 2025

Feature Updates

The August 2025 release of Lightroom provides support for bug fixes, supported cameras and lenses, stability improvements, and the following feature enhancements: 

  • Items added to the trash will be permanently deleted after 30 days. Learn how to access and restore deleted photos
  • Generative Remove and People Distraction Removal are now better than ever with enhanced experience and speedy results.
  • (Android) Quickly batch apply a border to multiple images together in the   Share and   Export as settings. 
  • (Android) The Update AI edits dialog box will be available when you create and share an edit replay. 
  • (Android) Automatically scroll to and see a highlight when you create a new album.
  • (Android) You can now batch-apply a watermark to multiple images together.

Feature Updates

Lightroom on desktop 

  • You can now access DenoiseRaw Details, and Super Resolution under the Detail section in the Edit panel. This allows you to make local editing adjustments to your photos directly instead of creating separate files for every enhancement. 
  • You can now export images in PNG file format.

Lightroom on mobile

  • You can now select multiple images and share them as an album. 
  • You can now experience faster image swiping in the Loupe view. 
  • Easily switch between reduced and original resolution in AI tools.
  • Pick border colours from anywhere on your image using the new colour picker tool.
  • (Android) Support for the new Android 15. 
  • Support to like and comment on shared assets via the top bar.

  • (Android) Improved support for HDR video playback and 10-bit HDR exports.
  • (Android) Enhanced reliability for smoother syncing performance.

Lightroom on desktop

  • The Edit in feature lets you seamlessly transfer your photos from Lightroom to another application, edit them, and then quickly bring them back into Lightroom.
  • The Denoise feature now supports more file formats, including Apple ProRaw from the iPhone camera. For more details, see Easily enhance image quality in Lightroom.
  • Use a screen reader with Lightroom and navigate the application using the keyboard. 
  • The Merge dialog box now displays photos in HDR when applicable. 
  • Export in HDR now supports ISO gain maps. 
  • HDR video is now supported on macOS. 
  • Enhancements in the Presets panel.
  • Display specific metadata as an overlay on thumbnails in the Filmstrip. 
  • Auto-advance the selection after flagging or rating a photo.

Lightroom on mobile

  • (iOS) Easily swipe through your device's photos or edited photos to make a selection.
  • (iOS) Faster link generation for album sharing.
  • (iOS) Directly send photos to Lightroom from the Photos app.
  • (iOS & Android) Improved HDR playback and export quality.
  • (Android) HDR support on Google Pixel 9 devices.

Lightroom on desktop

  • The slideshow option is now available in Lightroom to view a group of photos. Select the More menu to view the Start Slideshow option.
  • Apple Neural Engine is enabled for AI Denoise on Mac computers with Apple silicon (macOS Sonoma 14.0 or later).

  • (iOS) Easily set the cache size limit in local storage. 
  • (Android) Faster loading time of Preview Negatives to help you start the editing process quickly.
  • (Android)  Easily delete your Adobe account directly from the Lightroom app.
