As an enterprise organization, it is critical to protect your intellectual property. That extends to all aspects of your business, including Creative Cloud for enterprise accounts and Creative Cloud assets associated with those accounts.
With that in mind, we are updating Adobe storage and Adobe accounts to provide you with more control, insight, and security over your Creative Cloud accounts. The updates will include a change to storage allocation and visibility and will include additional enterprise features.
Storage allocation will be updated to provide storage at the organizational level as opposed to the individual level. This allows more visibility into storage use and control over storage allocations. Adobe allocates storage to every Creative Cloud for enterprise seat purchased and entitled.
Traditionally, Adobe storage is allocated per user with a storage limit. For example, an organization purchases 100 Creative Cloud seats, so each user is allocated 1TB of storage. Users that reach this limit must delete some content, or the organization must purchase more storage, even if other users aren't using their full quota.
With this update, instead of per user, storage allocation will be based on the total storage amount purchased by the organization. In the earlier example, if an organization purchases 100 Creative Cloud seats, each user is still entitled to 1TB of storage. By allocating at the organization level, any user can exceed their 1TB allocation, as long as all the users in the organization do not exceed 100TB of storage in total.
The following features are also included with this update:
- Asset transfer: If an employee leaves the organization, an IT administrator can transfer the employee's content either immediately or later. The content is transferred using a ZIP file (or multiple ZIP files if the content is over 5 GB). A link to the ZIP file is sent to the user delegated by the administrator to receive the transferred files. The user can download the ZIP file, extract, and upload it to their individual user folder. The ZIP file is available for as long as the corresponding home directory is not permanently deleted. For more information, see Reclaim assets from a user.
- Storage analytics: Administrators can view storage per user and receive alerts when storage limits are exceeded. Administrators can also download storage reports for further analysis.
To ensure Adobe can allocate your organization’s storage at the organizational level, manage Adobe Creative Cloud for enterprise seats through the Admin Console. Assign only to an Enterprise ID or Federated ID account. Your organization owns the Enterprise ID or Federated ID accounts and their associated content. An enterprise cannot update storage if any Creative Cloud seats are assigned to Adobe ID accounts. The organization must migrate any Adobe ID users to Enterprise or Federated ID users. Adobe ID user accounts can still be created. However, a Creative Cloud seat cannot be assigned to an Adobe ID.
Enterprise organizations can also access the following features, if they assign to Enterprise or Federated ID users:
- Sharing restrictions: Allows IT to set restrictions for how users can share and collaborate. For more information, see Sharing restrictions for asset protection.
- Content logs: Allows IT to view how files and folders are used and by whom. For more information, see Content logs.
Future updates to storage will provide a pathway to collaboration features that will greatly enhance cross-cloud workflows and streamline how users share, store, and access content.
After storage is updated, a Storage tab is added to your Adobe Admin Console, which lets you view and manage user storage.
