Create placeholder frames with the Frame tool

The Frame tool allows you to draw placeholder frames that you can fill with images.

Photoshop Frame Tool

  1. Select the Frame tool (K) .

  2. Select the rectangular or elliptical frame icon in the Options bar.

  3. Draw a frame on the canvas.

  4. Drag an image from the Libraries panel or from your computer's local disk into the frame. 

    The placed image automatically scales to fit the frame.

    The boundary of the frame masks the placed image.
