Can't uninstall | RoboHelp 9

Issue

The Adobe RoboHelp 9 uninstaller exits with an error and does not uninstall Adobe RoboHelp 9.

Solution

Manually remove Adobe RoboHelp 9.

Delete specific folders

Back up any personal files you want to save from the following directories, and then remove the listed folders and files.

Note: It's possible that your system doesn't contain all of the files and folders listed in this document. If you do not find a listed file or folder on your system, proceed to the next file or folder on the list.

  • [InstallDir]\Adobe RoboHelp 9
  • [CommonFileFolder] /Adobe/Scripting Dictionaries CS5/RoboHelp
  • [SharedDocuments]/Adobe/Adobe RoboHelp 9/RoboHELP for Word

Notes

  • [InstallDir] is the path to the base directory where you have installed RoboHelp 9. For example, C:\Program Files\Adobe\
  • [CommonFileFolder] is the path to the Windows common file folder. For example, C:\Program Files\Common Files
  • [SharedDocuments] is the path to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents

Delete specific registry entries using regedit

Important: The Windows registry contains critical system and application information. Make a backup of the registry before you edit it. For information on Windows Registry Editor, see the documentation for Microsoft Windows or contact Microsoft Technical Support.

  1. Choose Start > Run, and type regedit in the Open textbox; click OK.

  2. Navigate to one of the registry keys listed below and select it in the left panel; it appears in the registry editor as a folder.
  3. Choose Edit > Delete. Click Yes in the Confirm Key Delete dialog box.

Repeat steps 1-3 as needed for any remaining registry entries:

  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER \SOFTWARE\Adobe\RoboHelp\9.00
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE\Adobe\RoboHelp\9.00
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE\Adobe\RoboHelp\9.00
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE\Adobe\RoboHelp\Word\9.00

 Additional information

Adobe recommends that you use the Add or Remove Programs list to remove Adobe RoboHelp 9 from your computer. Occasionally, damaged files or a partial installation prevent the RoboHelp uninstaller from working. These factors can also cause the installer to leave files or empty application folders on the system. Sometimes, the Adobe RoboHelp 9 entry is missing from the Add or Remove Programs list. Or, the installer displays only the Uninstall option when you try to install Adobe RoboHelp 9.

Manually removing the installed program ensures that all files and folders are removed.
