When you try to install an application from the Creative Cloud for desktop app, you get the following error message:

"There was a problem installing <product name>."

When you click More Information, you get the error message as well as other important information, such as the path of the filename affected or the registry value.

You can also check for the same information in the installer logs. Search for the Install.log file at the following location:

  • Windows 7, 8, and 10 (64 bit): C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers
  • Windows 7, 8, and 10 (32 bit): C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers
  • Mac OS: /Library/logs/Adobe/Installers/
Error Code Reason Solution
101 Generic PIM error Unable to install the product. Click Retry to download and install it again.
102 Invalid session ID Unable to install the product. Click Retry to download and install it again.
107 Download error The download is damaged. Click Retry to download and install it again.
108 Install error Another installer instance is running. Wait for it to finish and try again.
113 Download error Unable to reach Adobe servers. Check your Internet connectivity and firewall settings, and then try again. For more information, see Advanced connectivity troubleshooting.
116 Download error Error while handling the file in the file system. Restart the system and try the installation again.
117 Download error The download is damaged. Click Retry to download and install it again.
119 Server unresponsive Server not responding. Check your Internet and firewall settings, and then click Retry. For more information, see Advanced connectivity troubleshooting.
120 Download error Insufficient disk space. Free some space and click Retry.
121 Download error Error writing to the temporary file location. Fix permissions for the temporary location.
123 Install Error Incorrect permission on the /tmp folder. For more information, see Installation failed | Exit Code 123.
126 Download error The download is damaged. Click Retry to download and install it again.
132 Install error Unable to install the product in the root directory. Select another install location in the preferences and try again.
133 Install error Insufficient disk space. Free some space and try again.
145 Install error File exists at the install path. Rename/delete the file and then try again. To get information about the file, see More information.
146 Unable to move file Unable to move the file. Rename the file and then try again. To get information about the file, see More information.
160 Unable to create registry key Unable to write the registry value. Check permissions and then try again. To get information about the registry, see More information.
184 Install error File locked by another process. Restart the system and try the installation again.
