No, this feature is available in the Premiere mobile app without requiring a paid subscription.

Premiere mobile is designed to run on any relatively recent iPhone that supports the Premiere app, so there are no special device requirements beyond standard app compatibility.

Create for YouTube Shorts automatically formats videos to YouTube’s required 9:16 aspect ratio, and you can publish any video length supported by YouTube Shorts (currently up to 60 seconds). The Premiere mobile app supports high-resolution video editing, including 4K.

When you select Allow template reuse when publishing to YouTube Shorts, the platform will surface an Edit in Adobe Premiere button, allowing viewers to select and launch your template in Premiere on iPhone. Creators can then use the timing and creative choices in their template, using their own media and creative assets to create their own video.

When creating a template, feel free to use any of the free fonts, stock images and videos, sound effects, video effects, speed changes, and transitions available in Premiere on iPhone. You can also include your own media or visual assets.

Note

Your original media will be removed from the template when it’s reused, so others will not be able to access or publish your personal assets.

Audio from the following sources will not be retained in your template:

  • Voiceover recorded directly into the app.
  • Extracted from videos.
  • From your Apple Music library.
  • Imported from Files.

Other assets and effects that are not retained in templates include custom LUTs, custom fonts, and generative AI content (generative video, images, stickers, and sound effects).

On YouTube Shorts, there will be an Edit in Premiere option, allowing users to open and edit the template directly in Premiere on iPhone.

No. Template media must be replaced in the template editor, so your media can’t be reused by others.

Adobe does not analyze your content to train generative AI models, unless you choose to submit content to the Adobe Stock marketplace. The Adobe Firefly generative AI models were trained on licensed content, such as Adobe Stock, and public domain content whose copyright has expired. Learn more about how Adobe analyzes your content.

Once your content is published on YouTube Shorts, it is subject to YouTube’s terms of service.

Once published on YouTube Shorts, your video will link to the original template in the Premiere on iPhone app. Please share your YouTube Shorts link so others can use your template.

Creators are not compensated monetarily for the use of their templates. Contributing templates may help reach new audiences and help inspire other creators.

Your project will be saved in Premiere on iPhone. The option to save and re-use a template is not available at this time. That said, we are constantly improving the app with customer feedback, so please share your feature requests and keep coming back.

At the time of launch, your YouTube handle will not appear in the Premiere on iPhone app template gallery. However, we recognize attribution for your work is important, and we plan to include it in the near future.
