Add keyframes to a clip

Last updated on Jan 28, 2026

Use keyframes to animate how a clip changes over time, such as its position, scale, or opacity in Adobe Premiere on iPhone.

When you add a keyframe, Premiere captures the value of a property at that moment. When you add another keyframe with a different property value, Premiere automatically creates motion between the two.

You can add multiple keyframes to fine-tune how your clip behaves and changes over time.

Select a clip in the timeline.

Move the playhead to the point where you want to set the property at its current value and start the animation.

Select Keyframe in the timeline controls.

Select Keyframe in the timeline controls to start adding animation points to the clip.

Move the playhead to another point in the clip.

Select Keyframe again in the timeline controls.

Adjust the property value that defines the change over time.

You can follow the same process to add keyframes for other properties in the same clip. This approach helps you control how multiple properties change over time throughout the video.
