Buyer’s licensing guidelines 

Buyers are required to use the content within the licensing guidelines. Typically, stock content is used for online and offline advertisements, product packaging, publications, software, or digital design. Customers are prohibited from using content in trademarks or in a defamatory or illegal way.

Adobe Stock photos and illustrations can be purchased under a Standard or Extended License.

Videos, 3D images, templates, and all Premium collection images have an Enhanced License. Enhanced licenses allow for unlimited print runs but can’t be used to create products for resale (such as coffee mugs or t-shirts), unless purchased through an Adobe Stock for Enterprise account.

Standard licenses

A standard license grants rights for up to 500,000 print runs with no expiration dates.

Content may be used for:

  • Websites, blogs, newsletters, and web banner illustrations
  • Press articles and magazine illustrations
  • Print advertising (magazines and urban displays), commercial documents, or packaging
  • Slideshows and videos for broadcast and presentations
  • Decorating and design elements, including framed images for personal use.

Extended licenses

Extended Licenses allow unlimited impressions/print runs and the ability to create products such as coffee mugs and t-shirts for resale.

API Program

We offer an Application Program Interface (API) program that allows our partners to showcase and facilitate sales of your content. These sites display Adobe Stock content to their customers, for example, for printing on various products like t-shirts or mugs. When a license is purchased, the sale is processed through your Adobe Stock Contributor account and royalties are applied to your account. If a different customer of an API partner wants to use the same image, another license must be purchased.

Crediting You

Customers and Adobe Stock have the right, but not the obligation, to identify you as the author and source of the content in a customary manner.

How to report suspected misuse of your intellectual property

Per our Contributor Agreement, you grant us the right to enforce your IP Rights against infringers, but we have no obligation to do so.

If you believe that any contributor file or other content infringes upon your copyright or trademark, send us an IP infringement claim. You can send us a DMCA Notice, DMCA Counter Notice, or Trademark Notice using our online form

  • For trademark infringement claims: Provide us with clear information about the location of the allegedly infringing work, complete information about your trademark, and your contact information (name, physical address, email address, and telephone number).
  • For copyright infringement notices, your notice must meet all requirements of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”) (described below). Adobe Stock only removes content we host in response to DMCA notices that contain all the following:
    • A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed;
    • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple copyrighted works at a single online site are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works at that site;
    • Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled and information reasonably sufficient to permit Adobe Stock to locate the material;
    • Information reasonably sufficient to permit Adobe Stock to contact you, such as an address, telephone number, and, if available, an electronic mail address;
    • A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and 
    • A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
    • We can provide a copy of the notice to the user who uploaded the material in question. 
    • We cannot review your claim if you fail to provide the requested information above.
