Captivate crashes on launch or while performing an action

If you are using Adobe Captivate 9 or 9.0.421, and witnessing frequent crashes on starting the product or even while working with a feature, follow the steps below to fix the issues.

Upgrade Captivate

If you frequently encounter "Captivate not responding" pop-up messages, upgrade to Captivate

Download build 437 from Captivate downloads.

Recreate preferences

Reset your preferences back to default. Delete or rename the Captivate Preferences folder in your OS user profile.

For example, in Windows 7, the Preferences folder is located at:

C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Captivate 9.0

Logging in and out

Try logging out of your Adobe account and log in with a different account.

To log out of your Adobe account, click Help > SIgn Out.
