Learn how to initiate a review from within InDesign
Share for Review is a feature that allows you to easily share your InDesign documents with collaborators for feedback and review. By providing a centralized platform for comments and annotations, it streamlines the review process and promotes efficient collaboration among team members.
Share for Review lets you create a shareable link of your document where stakeholders can provide feedback. Once stakeholders add comments, you automatically view them in the app. You can Reply to and Resolve comments, and push updates to the same link to continue the review cycle.
Create a shareable review link
-
-
Select File > Share for Review.
-
Select Create link in the Share for review dialog.
-
Set access permission and rename the link if required.
Permission
Access level
Anyone with the link can comment icon
Creates a public link that anyone can access. Invitation by email is optional.
Only invited people can comment icon
Creates a private link that cannot be accessed without an invite by email.
-
Select Copy to copy the review link and share it with your stakeholders.
Select the More options icon to:
- Create new review link: This lets you create additional review links. All the setting changes and in-app comments are added only to the latest review link.
- Link settings: This lets you enable or disable commenting and set passwords on public links.
- Delete review link: This lets you delete the latest review link.
- Manage review links: This lets you view all the review links in the Published tab on the Creative Cloud website.
You can save the shared document after receiving comments from stakeholders using File > Save. However, if you use File > Save As, it clears the review comments in the document.
Update shared links
You can continue to make changes to your document after you've shared them. Once your changes are made, select the Update content button in the Share for review dialog.
Stakeholders can view the document's updates when they refresh it. Feedback provided through the link isn't affected. You can update a review link to reflect document changes without creating a new link. An updated link preserves the stakeholder comments. You can manage your reviews online, create a new review, or delete a review for your designs.
Known issue
If you're unable to access existing review information such as review comments and email IDs of collaborators, upgrade to the latest version, and try opening the document to access the information.
