Learn how to review a shared InDesign document.
InDesign provides intuitive commenting tools that stakeholders can use to share their feedback. As a stakeholder, you can review the shared document when you receive:
- A private link through a Creative Cloud notification and an email.
- A public link through any of the communication channels.
Before you start commenting on a shared document, refresh the browser window to view the latest updates made to the design.
Review the document
If you're a stakeholder, you can add comments to the link shared with you on any device. You don't need an Adobe ID to add comments for a public link.

Select the Comments icon to add your comments and select Submit.
You can also:
- View, Reply to, and Resolve comments from other stakeholders. (if signed in with Adobe ID)
- View, and Reply to comments from other stakeholders (if signed in as a Guest).
- View, Reply to, and Resolve comments from other stakeholders. (if signed in with Adobe ID)

Use pin tool to pin or move your comments to indicate specific objects in the design. |

Select the text from the document and then select this tool to highlight the text. |

Select the text from the document and then select this tool to strikethrough the text. |

Select the section in the document where you want to replace text, select this tool, and start adding the content. |

Mark free form annotations using colors. |

Select to add emojis in your comment. |

Mention a user icon |
Select to mention a user while adding comments. If you use this option, the mentioned reviewer receives a notification in email and the Creative Cloud application. You can access the referenced comment section in the design when you select the notification. |

Filter icon |
Select to filter by Reviewer, Time, Status, and Unread. You'll view a Filter comments icon when one or more filters are in place. |
I |
Hide annotations or View annotations |
Toggle to view or hide annotations. |

Online icon or Offline icon |
Shows whether you're online or offline. |
