Generative Shape Fill, powered by Adobe Firefly, lets you fill shapes with detail and color in your own style.
Generate unique fills guided by the outlines of shapes and optional text prompts.

You can use shapes such as open and closed paths, basic shapes, grouped objects, and compound paths. You can also select multiple shapes.
In the Contextual Task Bar that appears, select Generative Shape Fill .
You can also access Generative Shape Fill from Object > Generative, the Quick Actions section of the Properties panel, the Generative Shape Fill icon in the Control panel, and the right-click menu.
In the prompt field, describe the fill you want to generate. The prompt is optional, but without it, the fill will be based entirely on the outline of the shape.
If you don’t want prompt suggestions, select View all settings , and then toggle off Suggestions.
In the Contextual Task Bar, select the model dropdown menu, and then select Firefly Vector 3 or one of the Partner models.
Use the options in Shape strength and detail as needed:
Use the options in Style Reference as needed:
Select Clear all next to Styles to remove the style reference and the effects.
Style Reference is currently unavailable for partner models.
To refine the colors, select View all settings . In the Generative Shape Fill dialog box that opens, select Color and Tone:
Select Clear all at the top of Color and Tone to remove all color settings, and Clear all in the Generative Shape Fill dialog to remove all settings.
Select Generate in the Generative Shape Fill dialog box:
Variations of the fill appear in the Properties panel. The first variation automatically appears on the canvas as a Generative Object, indicated by on its bounding box, filling the shape. If you selected a partner model, you get only one output variation. The shape remains on the canvas independent of the fill. A Generative Object layer also appears in the Layers panel.
In the Contextual Task Bar, use the arrows to preview the variations and select the one that best suits your artwork.
You can manage the generated variations from the Properties panel or the Generated Variations panel. You can also copy the Generative Object with its linked variations or re-run Generative Shape Fill and choose how to re-run.
