Use AI-powered media intelligence in Media Encoder to analyze videos so that Premiere Pro can search them immediately after import.
Media Intelligence in Adobe Media Encoder enables you to analyze video and audio files before editing, generating sidecar files that Premiere can utilize immediately upon import. These sidecar files enable visual and audio search through features such as speech transcription and searchable dialogue, audio classification, and scene detection, making your editing workflow faster and more efficient.
You can run analysis manually on selected files or automate the process for all media as it becomes available, based on your workflow needs:
- Manual analysis: Add jobs for specific clips when you want to analyze them on demand.
- Automatic analysis: Configure Media Encoder to generate and update sidecar files for all media in a folder, ensuring new and existing files are analyzed without manual effort.

Media Encoder will scan the directory and create sidecar files for any media files that don’t have them. It continues to monitor for changes and new media that arrive in the folder, creating new sidecar files while keeping the media files in their original locations.
Keep Media Encoder open to continue to monitor the folder.
You can also create an Ingest Preset with Media Intelligence Analysis.
