This sample file is an Adobe Stock asset you can use to practice what you learn in this tutorial. If you want to use the sample file beyond this tutorial, you can purchase a license on Adobe Stock. Check out the ReadMe file in the folder for the terms that apply to your use of this sample file.
Open the Adobe Capture app on your mobile device and swipe to the Looks tab. (Skip this step if you want to use our sample Look file instead.) Load a photo from your camera roll or take a photo that produces the color palette you want. Choose a photo with few bold colors so you’ll see a noticeable end result later. Tap the checkmark to accept and preview the Look on some sample media. Tap Save on the next screen to save the Look to one of your Creative Cloud libraries.
In Premiere Pro, switch to the Color workspace and make the Project panel active. Create a new adjustment layer (File > New > Adjustment Layer) and accept the default settings. Drag the item from the Project panel to your sequence, above your footage. Trim it to fit. Select the adjustment layer and then expand the Basic Correction section of the Lumetri Color panel. Click Auto to apply automatic White Balance and Tone adjustments to the shot appearing in the Program Monitor. For best results, start with footage that is properly exposed.
If you created your Look in Adobe Capture, switch to the Libraries workspace and drag the Look from the appropriate Creative Cloud library to the adjustment layer. The footage will change its appearance immediately.
If you’re using an existing Look file instead of creating one in Adobe Capture, then within the Color workspace, select the adjustment layer and expand the Creative section of the Lumetri Color panel. Choose Look > Browse and navigate to the CUBE file to load it into the panel. The footage will update immediately.
Return to the Color workspace, if you aren’t already there, and experiment with some of the Adjustments controls in the Creative section of the Lumetri Color panel to fine-tune the look of your shot and help bring your footage to life.
