Adobe Acrobat Diagnostics

Adobe Acrobat Diagnostics helps identify and troubleshoot Acrobat issues like crashes and errors by gathering data on Acrobat-related processes and system settings. Once saved on your device, you can review or share this data online with the support team for analysis. The tool collects the following data:

±A dump file is a snapshot that shows the process that was executing and modules that were loaded for Acrobat at that point in time.

Run Adobe Acrobat Diagnostics on Windows

  1. Quit Acrobat if it's already running.

  2. Unzip the downloaded file to any location, and then open the Adobe_Acrobat_Diagnostics.exe file.

  3. If you see a User Account Control prompt, select Yes to allow Adobe Acrobat Diagnostics to run.

  4. In the Adobe Acrobat Diagnostics dialog box, select Advanced logs, and then select the following options:

    • Acrobat process monitor: Gather currently running Acrobat processes using Procmon.
    • Systems apps information: Gather installed Acrobat version information.
    Note:

    If you don't select an option, basic logs containing Acrobat and system settings and configurations will be gathered.

  5. Select Start diagnostics.

  6. If you select Acrobat process monitor and the User Account Control prompt appears, select Yes.

  7. Launch Acrobat and perform the steps that caused the problem, then select Stop diagnostics.

  8. Adobe Acrobat Diagnostics requests more information about the workflow causing the problem. Enter the error description and your email in the provided fields. Choose Select Files to attach files experiencing issues, screenshots, and other relevant information.

    View or share logs

  9. Select view logs to access the folder containing the logs. Otherwise, select Share logs.

  10. The logs are saved to Adobe's cloud storage. Copy the log ID in the dialog box and share it with the support team. You can also go to %temp%/Acrobat_Diagnostics/Output/ to view and share the logs manually.

Run Adobe Acrobat Diagnostics on macOS

  1. Quit Acrobat if it's already running.

  2. Unzip the downloaded file to any location and open Adobe_Acrobat_Diagnostics.app.

  3. In the Adobe Acrobat Diagnostics dialog box, select one of the following options:

    • Advanced logs: Gather full Acrobat data dump.
    • Systems apps information: Gather installed Acrobat version information.

    If you don't select an option, basic logs containing Acrobat and system settings and configurations will be gathered.

  4. Select Start diagnostics.

  5. Enter your system password if prompted, and then select OK.

  6. Launch Acrobat and perform the steps that led to the issue, then select Stop diagnostics.

  7. Adobe Acrobat Diagnostics asks to enter more information about the workflow causing the problem. Enter the error description and your email in the provided fields. Choose Select Files to attach files experiencing issues, screenshots, and other relevant information.

  8. Select view logs to access the folder containing the logs. Otherwise, select Share logs.

  9. The logs are saved to Adobe's cloud storage. Copy the log ID in the dialog box and share it with the support team. You can also go to /Users/<user name>/Library/AcrobatDiagnostics/Output/ to view or share the logs manually.

Note:

The uploaded log files are periodically cleared from Adobe servers. Email us if you wish to delete the uploaded logs immediately from Adobe servers.
