Mandatory Application Update for Adobe Connect 12.11.1
  • Desktop application version 2026.1 (macOS) and 2026.3 (Windows) are mandatory to attend sessions on Adobe Connect 12.11.1. Users will not be able to join sessions on 12.11.1 without these versions.
  • Users on older versions of the desktop application will be prompted to update the first time they join a session on an account upgraded to 12.11.1.
  • We recommend that organizations with locked-down environments (where end users cannot install or update software) complete the application rollout before their account is upgraded to 12.11.1 to ensure uninterrupted access to Adobe Connect.
  • Users can continue to access Adobe Connect via a supported web browser if unable to update immediately.

What's new in Adobe Connect Applications

UI Updates to Screen Share Mini Controller (macOS and Windows)

The Screen Share Mini Controller has been updated to improve usability and clarity.

  • Refreshed icons.
  • Updated tooltips for better contextual guidance.

These updates aim to provide a more intuitive screen sharing experience.

Embedded Chromium Updated to Version 141 (Windows only)

The embedded Chromium engine in the Windows application has been upgraded to version 141.

This update:

  • Incorporates the latest Chromium security patches.
  • Provides stability and performance improvements.
  • Ensures alignment with current browser engine standards.

Chromium-based Screen Sharing in Windows Application  (Windows only)

The Windows desktop app now leverages the Chromium framework for screen sharing, replacing the previous native OS based implementation. This change brings notable performance improvements, offering a smoother and more reliable screen sharing experience.

Note: The macOS application has been leveraging Chromium-based screen sharing since version 2025.8.

Important:

  • Application Sharing Deprecated

Previously, users could restrict sharing to all windows of a specific application. For example, sharing only the Excel application and switching between open workbooks. This feature is no longer available. Users can continue to share either:

    • Share a specific window, such as an individual Excel workbook
    • Share their entire screen
  • Updated Behavior for Admin-Controlled Restrictions

    • Window Sharing: Applications blocked by administrators (as configured in Connect Central Admin – Compliance and Control settings) will not be available for selection.
    • Full Screen Sharing: Blocked applications will no longer be redacted with a black overlay. They will appear as-is when sharing the entire screen
