This document lists some error scenarios you can encounter while sharing or viewing design specs along with workarounds for these errors.
The design specs did not publish successfully
At the back end, design specs get published in two stages. First a link is generated for low resolution (0.5x) design specs and then the link is updated for high resolution (2x) specs.
The publishing may fail at the first or the second stage due the following reasons:
- Network issues
- The XD project was closed while publish was in progress
- Proxy server issues
Network issues
- The following error message indicates that publishing of 0.5x link was not completed:
Resolution: Check your network connection and retry publishing the specs.
- The following error message occurs when the publishing of 2x link fails:
Resolution: Check your network connection and retry publishing the specs.
The XD project was closed while publish was in progress
If you reopen an XD project that was closed while publish was in progress and try to publish the design specs again, you will see the following error message:
Resolution: Click OK in the error message. Depending on whether or not the design specs were published successfully peviously, you will see one of the following dialog boxes:
Click the appropriate option in the above dialog boxes.
Proxy server issues
- The following error message indicates that publishing of design specs and prototype was incomplete due to proxy server issues:
Resolution: Ensure that you have accurately setup the proxy server settings in your machine. For more information on resolving proxy server issues, see Why can't I use the Adobe XD Share Online feature?
Unable to update a design specs link
When you try to update an already published link to design specs, you may encounter errors if:
- The published link was deleted from assets.adobe.com; or
- Network issues exist
The published link was deleted from assets.adobe.com
The following error message is displayed in this scenario:
Resolution: Click OK and share your design specs with a new link.
Network issues
The following error message is displayed in this scenario:
Resolution: Check your internet connection and try again.
Unable to create a design specs link
If you are an Enterprise user of XD and you do not have access to Adobe sharing services, you will not be able to create design specs links. If you try to publish design specs and create a link, the following error message is displayed:
Resolution: To resolve this issue, contact your IT administrator and have them enable Adobe sharing services for you.
