Missing required system codecs
When you place a HEIF or HEIC file in Adobe InDesign on Windows, the file may fail to import because the required Windows codec extensions are not installed. InDesign.
When you select File > Place and select a HEIF or HEIC file, InDesign displays one of these error messages:
- Additional non-Adobe software is needed to open .heic or .heif files.
- The file [filename].heic is in a format not supported in InDesign.
