Adobe Photoshop Elements regularly checks for important updates and installs them. These updates can include important security fixes and product enhancements. It is recommended that you install them to keep your application up-to-date and secure.

Updates are delivered using the following two options:

• Automatically download and install updates (recommended): Photoshop Elements regularly check for important updates, download them, and install them automatically. When finished, you are alerted using a dialog box that is shown on the next launch. We recommend you install updates automatically for a seamless experience.
  

• Notify me when an update is available: Photoshop Elements does not install updates automatically. A notification is shown in case an update is available and you can install it manually by clicking on “Install Now” or “Install on Exit”.
