Canada and Mexico | Pay in local currency for your subscription

Find answers to questions about paying in local currency for Creative Cloud, Document Cloud, and Adobe Stock subscriptions in Canada and Mexico.

Customers in Canada and Mexico will be able to pay for Creative Cloud, Document Cloud, and Adobe Stock subscriptions in local currency instead of United States Dollar. Read on to find out about the benefits of this change, and answers to common questions.

What are the benefits of paying in local currency?

Paying in Canadian Dollar (CAD) and Mexican Peso (MXN) in Canada and Mexico respectively will ensure that your membership fees are not subject to fluctuation in currency exchange rate with the United States Dollar (USD). In addition, you may be able to avoid paying foreign transfer remittance fees, subject to terms of your credit card issuer.

Is my subscription price changing?

The intention is not to increase the price of your subscription but to provide you with the benefits of paying in local currency as explained above.

Pricing in local currency will vary by plan—for example, for the annual paid monthly plans:

  • Creative Cloud for individuals Single App plans will be CAD $27.99 or MXN $449 per month instead of US $20.99 per month.

  • Creative Cloud for individuals All Apps plan will be CAD $69.99 or MXN $1,099 per month instead of US $52.99 per month.

  • Creative Cloud for teams All Apps plan will be CAD $104.99 or MXN $1,699 per month instead of US $79.99 per month.

If you already have an existing membership, you will receive information about your membership renewal price in local currency directly from us.

When will payment in local currency take effect in Canada and Mexico?

Canada

  • Starting December 7, 2020, if you’re currently paying in USD for annual billed monthly plans, you will have the option to switch to CAD without waiting for the annual renewal date.
  • Starting January 6, 2021, if you have an existing subscription contract in USD that is coming up for renewal, we will begin renewing your subscription in CAD. Starting on the same date, all new purchases will be offered in CAD.

Mexico

  • Starting January 19, 2021, if you’re currently paying in USD for annual billed monthly plans, you will have the option to switch to MXN without waiting for the annual renewal date.
  • Starting January 25, 2021, if you have an existing subscription contract in USD that is coming up for renewal, we will begin renewing your subscription in MXN. Starting on the same date, all new purchases will be offered in MXN.

Can I continue to pay in USD for my membership?

No, you will not be able to pay in USD when your membership is up for renewal. By paying in local currency, you get a much better experience in transacting with Adobe.

I have an existing membership. What do I need to do?

You don’t need to take any action as your subscription will automatically renew in CAD or MXN. If you have a monthly plan without an annual contract, you will see your next monthly bill charges in CAD or MXN. However, if you have an annual contract, either paid monthly or annually, you will see renewal charges in CAD or MXN on your annual contract renewal date.

Can I switch currency before my annual contract renewal date?

Yes, you can switch currency without having to wait for the renewal date. (Not available for Creative Cloud for Teams subscriptions. Teams subscriptions will change currency automatically upon renewal.)

  1. In the banner at the top, select Update now

    Switch currency

  2. Review your plan details and recurring charges in local currency. Then select Confirm.

If you see an error when trying to switch currency to CAD or MXN, it could be because your payment method is unable to process payments in one of those currencies. If so, update your payment method and then repeat steps 2 and 3 above.

Why did my membership price increase?

This is most likely because you had a special promotional discount exclusively for the first year of your membership, and based on our promotion terms, you are set to auto-renewing at regular price after the first year. In this case, your auto-renewal will be in CAD or MXN instead of the USD.
