Use the following information to gather crash logs, or other log types, associated with your Adobe Digital Publishing content and application development.

Gather logs from remote end users

Recommended method: This method is preferred. The crash logs collected from this method are already resolved to key information (symbols, in engineering terms). Technical Support and Engineering can use these logs to debug your issue. This method is dependent on the crashes being reported from the application downloaded from the App store. They don't come from a developer app that you are testing before release. You can gather the crash logs from the iTunes Connect website (http://itunesconnect.apple.com).

  1. Log in with your developer credentials.
  2. Click Manage Your Applications.
  3. Click the name of your application.
  4. Click View Details.
  5. Select each iTunes OS version tab. For each one, click  Crash Report and then click Download Crash Logs.

Gather logs from a local device

If you are testing with an app that is not yet live in the App store, use this method. Be sure to look for files marked as crash logs, as well as low memory logs. To gather the logs, sync the device and then look for logs with time stamps that match your experience. The log files are located in the following folders:

MacOS
Users/<USER NAME>/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/<DEVICE_NAME>.

Windows Vista/7
<DRIVE>:\Users\<USER NAME>\AppData\Roaming\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\<DEVICE_NAME>

Windows XP
<DRIVE>:\Documents and Settings\<USER NAME>\Application Data\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter\<DEVICE_NAME>
