Navigate to: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop [version]\Required\typesupport\.f\
After activating Kozuka Gothic Pr6N B and Kozuka Gothic Pr6N R fonts from Adobe Fonts, you observe one or more of the following issues when using these fonts in Photoshop:
Windows and macOS
After installing Kozuka Gothic Pr6N B and Kozuka Gothic Pr6N R fonts that support Adobe-Japan1-7 (includes the horizontal and vertical ligatures for the new Japanese era name "Reiwa"), the corresponding old font files that are already bundled with the Photoshop application have to be removed manually.
To resolve the issue, remove the old font files named .9 and .10 from the Photoshop installation folder.
On a Windows computer, do the following:
Navigate to: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop [version]\Required\typesupport\.f\
In the .f folder, locate and delete the files named .9 and .10.
Alternatively, move these out of the application folder.
On a Mac, do the following:
Navigate to:
/Applications/Adobe Photoshop [version]/Adobe Photoshop [version].app
Control-click the Photoshop app file and choose Show Package Contents from the context menu.
Now, navigate to:
/Contents/Required/typesupport/.f/
These files are hidden in Mac Finder. To display the hidden files, press Command + Shift + . (Period).
In the .f folder, locate and delete the files named .9 and .10.
Alternatively, move these out of the application folder.
