Use the Join tool to connect paths in a few simple steps.

Open Illustrator

Intersecting paths and small gaps are modified using the join tool.

Select the Join tool.
Draw a line to connect the ends of two paths at their point of intersection.
Drag over the overlapping paths to trim the excess portions.
