Generative Expand now available in Photoshop on the iPad

Create without boundaries and unleash your potential. Generative Expand enables you to transform your canvas dimensions from portrait to landscape, or vice versa. You can:

  • Enlarge a portrait to fit a larger frame.
  • Straighten an image and fill in the corners.
  • Expand your images to create new marketing materials, such as branding advertisements, social media graphics, flyers, and more.

Generative Expand—a revolutionary Firefly-powered generative AI capability—is now available in Photoshop on the iPad. It's similar to Generative Expand on desktop and the web and brings the power and precision of Photoshop to your fingertips without being tethered to a desk.

Simply expand the canvas dimensions with or without text prompts (in more than 100 languages) to fill the canvas with content that naturally blends with the existing image.

View the newly created content in a Generative Layer, and choose from three creative variations per generation.

From conceptualizing creative ideas to making complex edits and refinements, Generative Expand can help you quickly realize your vision in a few steps.
