How can I get Adobe Capture CC?

Adobe Capture CC for iOS and Android phones is available as a free download through the iTunes App Store and Google Play.

Adobe Capture is available in English, Norwegian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Traditional Chinese, and Turkish.

What are assets?

Assets are the building blocks of your creative projects in the Creative Cloud. Capture lets you create six different types of assets: colors, patterns, shapes, materials, type, and brushes.

How do I create a pattern?

All you need is your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone and an image to capture and create patterns.

  1. Open the Adobe Capture app. 

  2. Tap Patterns

  3. Tap the + icon at the bottom of the screen. 

  4. Tap the camera icon to take a picture using the camera, or choose an existing image from your Camera Roll, Adobe Stock, or Creative Cloud

  5. Select a type of pattern by selecting one of the options. 

  6. Use the cropping option to refine and edit your captured pattern.

  7. Tap Save (->) on the upper right corner.

  8. Name and Save your pattern to a CC Library.

How do I create, edit, or delete a color theme?

All you need is your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone and an image to capture and create color themes.

Creating color themes

  1. Open the Adobe Capture app.

  2. Tap the + icon at the bottom of the screen.

  3. Tap the camera icon to take a picture using the camera, or choose an existing image from your Camera Roll, Adobe Stock, or Creative Cloud

    The app automatically determines and shows five colors from the scene. You can drag the pointers to select the colors too.

  4. Press the shutter to go to next step.

  5. Edit the color themes by using Sliders, Color Wheel, or edit directly at the source image. 

  6. Tap Save (->) on the upper right corner. 

  7. Name and Save your pattern to a CC Library.

Editing color themes

  1. Tap ... to reveal the Color theme menu.

  2. Tap Edit to open the color theme in the editable color wheel or modify the RGB values.

Deleting color themes

  1. Tap ... to reveal the menu.

  2. Tap Delete from the more options menu.

How do I create, edit, or delete a shape?

All you need is your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone, or any existing image to capture and create shapes.

Creating shapes

  1. Open the Adobe Capture CC app.

  2. Tap Shapes.

  3. Tap the + icon at the bottom of the screen.

  4. Tap the camera icon to take a picture using the camera, or choose an existing image from your Camera RollAdobe Stock, or Creative Cloud.

  5. The app displays the dominant trace lines. Use the slider to adjust the shape to obtain the optimum results.

  6. Tap the screen to invert the colors. 

  7. Press the shutter to go to next step. 

  8. Edit the shape by using the Edit tab options such as crop, clean, or smooth. 

  9. Tap Save (->) on the upper right corner.

  10. Click name and save your pattern to a CC Library. 

Editing shapes

Tap the shape to edit it.

Deleting shapes

  1. Tap a shape to open it. 

  2. Tap Delete from the more options menu.

    The shape is deleted from all your devices and Creative Cloud.

  1. Open the Adobe Capture CC app.

  2. Tap Brushes.

  5. Follow the instructions to crop the image and choose a style for the brush.

  6. Edit the brush by using the Edit tab options such as crop, styles, presets, or refine.

How do I create a Type?

  1. Open the Adobe Capture app.

  2. Tap Type

  3. Tap the + icon at the bottom of the screen.

  4. Tap the camera icon to take a picture using the camera, or choose an existing image from your Camera RollAdobe Stock, or Creative Cloud.

  5. Follow the instructions to align and crop the text of the image.

  6. Select one of the found results and edit the selected one if desired.

How do I create a 3D material?

3D materials of Capture can be directly used in Adobe Dimension. All you need is an image.

  1. Open the Adobe Capture app.

  2. Tap Materials

  3. Tap the + icon at the bottom of the screen. 

  4. Tap the camera icon to take a picture using the camera, or choose an existing image from your Camera RollAdobe Stock, or Creative Cloud.

  5. Press the shutter to go to next step. 

  6. Use the cropping option to refine and edit your captured material. 

  7. Tap Save (->) on the upper right corner. 

  8. Name and Save your pattern to a CC Library.

How do I manage my Capture assets?

Your assets are saved automatically in your Creative Cloud Libraries. You can choose an existing library to save individual assets to, or create a library in the My Library menu.

You can manage your libraries, including sharing a library with another person, by logging in to your Creative Cloud account on a browser and selecting My Assets > Libraries.

How do I sync my assets to the Creative Cloud to use in my other apps?

When you save an asset in Capture, you place them into a Creative Cloud Library. These libraries sync automatically when your device is connected to wifi, which makes your assets appear in compatible Adobe desktop and mobile apps in the CC Library panel.

How to use your Capture assets in your desktop or mobile apps?

In Creative Cloud desktop apps, you can find compatible Capture assets in the Libraries panel. Simply click and drag the assets that you wish to use onto your art board or canvas. In Creative Cloud mobile apps, you can find compatible Capture assets in the Shapes menu or in the Brushes menu for Photoshop Sketch and Illustrator Draw.

How do I use assets created with Capture in other apps?

Now that you have built your arsenal of color themes, vector-based shapes, and custom brushes, you can start using them in final artwork in a desktop app or explore concepts further in other mobile apps. Ensure that you save your assets to a Creative Cloud library in Capture. From other supported apps, simply access your Creative Cloud Libraries, pick the one you saved your asset in, and select your asset.

How can I edit the assets I made in Capture?

Within Capture, you have the ability to edit your assets by tapping on the pencil icon when looking at the details of your asset. You can also bring the asset directly into a compatible desktop or mobile app to further modify your asset.
