Solutions

  1. Try to view the prototype in a different browser. Different browsers exhibit different behaviors.

Chrome

If you work with Chrome, try any of the following options:

If the following error is in the console, hardware acceleration might be disabled in Chrome settings:

Could not create canvas: Could not create a WebGL context, VENDOR = 0xffff, DEVICE = 0xffff.

To enable hardware acceleration in Chrome:

  1. Launch Chrome and in the address bar type chrome://settings/?search=hardware.
  2. Toggle on Use hardware acceleration when available within System.
  3. Relaunch Chrome.

Alternatively, try the following steps:

  1. Open a browser window and type chrome://settings/help.
  2. Check if About Google Chrome displays Google Chrome is up to date.
  3. If the display text does not match, update Chrome to the latest version.

Firefox

If you work with Firefox, try any of the following options:

Ensure that Use hardware acceleration when available is enabled in Firefox performance settings.

Safari

If you work with Safari, try any of the following options:

If the following error is in the console, hardware acceleration might be disabled in Safari settings:

Could not create canvas: Could not create a WebGL context, VENDOR = 0xffff, DEVICE = 0xffff.

Edge

If you work with Edge, try any of the following options:

Opera

If you work with Opera, try any of the following options:

If the following error is in the console, hardware acceleration might be disabled in Opera settings:

Could not create canvas: Could not create a WebGL context, VENDOR = 0xffff, DEVICE = 0xffff.

To enable hardware acceleration:

  1. Launch Opera and in the address bar type Opera://settings/.
  2. At the bottom of the Settings page, click Advanced.
  3. Toggle on Use hardware acceleration within System.
  4. Relaunch Opera.

Other solutions

If you are still unable to view prototypes in the browser, try the following steps:

  1. Open a browser window and navigate to http://webglreport.com/. You can also visit  https://get.webgl.org/ and look for a spinning cube.
  2. If the browser does not support WebGL, view the prototype in another browser or on another device.
  1. To open developer tools, right click the prototype and select Inspect Element or press Cmd+Option+I.
  2. Select the Console tab.
  3. Look for an error that contains WebGL and copy the error.
  4. Post the error details on Adobe XD User Voice.
