Learn about panels in Firefly video editor and how they help you organize, edit, and fine-tune your project with ease.
When working with the Firefly video editor, you can access multiple panels to work with media files, text components, timeline properties, and selected media properties. Each of these panels is designed to help you organize, edit, and fine-tune your project with ease.
In the Firefly video editor, you can work with the following panels:
The Your media panel can be enabled by using the Your media icon in the left sidebar of the editor. This panel lists all the media files you’ve added and the timeline in your video editor. Using this panel, you can:
- Upload new media files
- Delete media files
- Create a new timeline
The Generation history panel can be enabled by using the Generation history icon in the left sidebar of the editor. This panel allows you to:
- Browse through the generated media, including the ones you have added as favorites
- Generate new videos directly within the editor, or navigate to the image and sound effect generation pages.
- Drag and drop generated media from the panel to your timeline.
The Text panel can be enabled by using the Text icon in the left sidebar of the editor. This panel allows you to adjust text properties in the timeline.
In the timeline, each layer can be a video, image, or text. When you select a layer, the Properties panel automatically activates based on the layer type. It provides options to adjust properties such as size, position, and other edit settings, allowing you to customize the selected layer based on your editing needs.
The Generation settings panel allows you to use the Firefly Video model to generate videos using multiple customizable controls, such as resolution, aspect ratio, keyframe images, style presets, and camera angle.
The Text-based editing panel lets you work directly with the transcript of the video clip selected in the timeline. You can use this panel to navigate the timeline through the transcript and edit the text to build and refine the video.
To activate this panel, select a video clip that contains speech, then select the Text-based editing icon in the right panel. Firefly video editor will automatically transcribe the audio, and the transcript will appear in this panel, allowing you to edit the video using the text.
