Issue Updating Creative Cloud Packager on Windows

Creative Cloud Packager is no longer in development and no updates will be provided. Also, Creative Cloud Packager cannot be used to create packages that include Creative Cloud 2019 apps or later. Learn More.

We recommend that you use the create package workflows provided in the Adobe Admin Console to create Named User Licensing packages and Shared Device Licensing packages.

Issue

When you launch Creative Cloud Packager v 1.12.0 on a Windows computer, you receive an error message that prevents you from updating the application.

If you have not configured your Creative Cloud Packager for auto-updates, you are prompted to update the application. If you click Yes to update the Creative Cloud Packager on your computer, you get the following error message:

However, if you have configured your Creative Cloud Packager for auto-updates, you are immediately prompted with the following error message:

In either scenario, if you click Quit, Creative Cloud Packager quits without updating the application.

Resolution

To update Creative Cloud Packager to the latest version, download and install the update.

Note:

This issue is only specific to version 1.12.0 on Windows.

Check Creative Cloud Packager version

To check the version of Creative Cloud Packager that is currently installed on your computer, you can do one of the following:

Using the Properties dialog box the CreativeCloudPackager.exe

Navigate to the following folder on your computer:

64-bit computer: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\CCP

32-bit computer: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\CCP
Right-click on the CreativeCloudPackager.exe file and choose Properties.
The Product version property in the Properties dialog displays the version of Creative Cloud Packager on this current computer.

Using the Creative Cloud Packager version.xml file

Navigate to the following folder on your computer:

64-bit computer: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\CCP

32-bit computer: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\CCP
Open the version.xml file in any XML or Text editor.
The Windows Version node displays the version of Creative Cloud Packager on this current computer.
