Apply audio fade

Last updated on Sep 30, 2025

Learn how to add smooth audio fades to your clips for natural transitions in Premiere on iPhone.

Fading audio in or out helps create seamless transitions between clips, reduces abrupt sound cuts, and improves the listening experience. Simple sliders allow you to easily control the duration of fades.

Tap the clip you want to apply an audio fade to.

At the bottom of the screen, scroll through the options and select Audio fade.

The Audio fade control panel opens with two sliders:

  • Fade in: Drag the slider to smoothly bring in the audio at the beginning of the clip.
  • Fade out: Drag the slider to smoothly lower the audio at the end of the clip.

Use fade-in and fade-out sliders to smooth audio transitions and make your edits sound more natural.

At the end of each slider, you can see the fade duration in seconds for precise control.
