Enhanced editing capabilities with the new auto-adjust layout experience

Acrobat introduces enhanced editing capabilities that provide you with a seamless multi-page editing experience for qualified PDF documents by reflowing content and auto-adjusting layout across pages, like in a Word processor. When you open a PDF document for editing, Acrobat tries to identify the document's structural elements, layout, and order of information. Based on the analysis, Acrobat decides whether the document is qualified for the enhanced editing experience.

Key features

You no longer have to manually adjust the content to fix overlaps while editing a PDF document. The new auto-adjust layout mode in Acrobat automatically adjusts the content and reflows.

Key features:

  • Text and images adjust automatically across pages as you edit.
  • Document layout and margin are preserved while editing.
  • Navigate and select text freely across paragraphs using the cursor.
  • Make text or images inline or in front of document content.
  • Select content easily across boxes on a page.

Edit PDFs using the auto-adjust layout mode

  1. Open a PDF document in Acrobat, then select Edit from the global bar.

  2. Acrobat prompts whether you want to use the new powerful editing feature. Select OK.

Acrobat uploads your PDF to the cloud for background processing and collects detailed metadata like layout, margins, heading, text, figures and artifacts, styling info, and more. Based on the analysis, if the document is qualified, Acrobat displays the message - the auto-adjust layout is on.

Auto-adjust layout enhancements for tables in PDF

Now you can move or resize a table, edit the text inside the table, add images, cut or copy the table, and much more.

    หมายเหตุ:

The auto-adjust layout feature does not support editing of tables covering more than 80% of the page on resizing.

    Move or resize a table

A table can be resized or moved as a whole within the margins of the page, not row by row.

    Edit text within a table

You can now edit the text of the inner text boxes inside the table. The table size increases or decreases accordingly as per the entered text.

What happens if the new experience is not available for a PDF document

When Acrobat detects that the PDF does not qualify for the new auto-adjust layout mode, it displays the message - Auto-adjust layout is off. You can continue editing the PDF using the Edit PDF tool as before without the auto-adjusting capabilities.

To know more about the unsupported files, select More Details in the message that appears.
