Adobe Connect 12.11.1 Release Notes

Adobe Connect 12.11.1 is a minor release introducing new features, improvements to existing features, greater accessibility, and fixes to known issues.

What's new in Adobe Connect 12.11.1

Improved Audio and Video Quality

Enhanced the underlying real-time audio and video delivery architecture to improve:

• Audio clarity and stability
• Camera video consistency
• Screen sharing performance
• Resilience under varying network conditions

These improvements are available automatically to all rooms that have Enhanced Audio/Video enabled, with no configuration changes required from hosts or administrators.

Chat Pod: New message nudge

Attendees who scroll up in the Chat Pod will now see a visual indicator when new messages arrive, along with a “Scroll to Bottom” shortcut to quickly return to the latest messages.

Poll Pod: Default results format updated

The default poll results broadcast format is now "Show as % Only". This was "Show as both" (number and percentage) earlier. Hosts can still choose to display absolute vote counts if desired from the Poll pod menu -> Result format.

Clear Content from Pods extended to breakout rooms

The “Clear content from pods” feature now allows host to reset pod content in breakout rooms also, simplifying room reuse across sessions. 

Admin Control: Custom Pod Sharing Restrictions

Admins can now restrict hosts from uploading custom pod files directly through the Share Pod. When enabled, hosts can only use custom pods approved and made available via the Custom Pod marketplace (by account admins). 

This capability is managed from Admin > Compliance and Control > Client settings > Custom Pod Settings > “Allow users to add custom pods by sharing pod files (.pod or .zip) through Share Pod. This does not control the addition of custom pods from the marketplace”.

UX Refinements & Other Improvements

1. Expanded recording playback area
   The playback viewing area for recordings has been increased. This restores screen real estate that was reduced in the 12.11 release and improves content visibility during playback.
2. Mirroring no longer applies to virtual backgrounds
   When a user enables camera mirroring, only their live camera feed will be mirrored. Virtual backgrounds will remain unmirrored and display correctly to other participants, as intended.
3. Multiple hyperlinks within a single pptx text box
   An issue has been resolved where all hyperlinks contained within a single text box in a PowerPoint file uploaded to the Share Pod would incorrectly redirect to the same URL (the last link in the text box). Each link will now redirect to its correct destination.
4. Improved rendering of math equations in PPTX file
   Multiple fixes have been made to improve how mathematical equations are rendered in PowerPoint files uploaded to the Share Pod.
5. Q&A cards open by default for participants
   All Q&A cards in the Q&A Pod will now be expanded by default for participants, as well as in the participant view for hosts and presenters. Attendees may choose to minimize individual cards as needed.
6. Recording anonymization: camera pod display name subtitles hidden
   When a recording has been anonymized, camera pod display name subtitles will now be automatically hidden to maintain anonymity for all viewers of the recording.
7. Quiz Pod: Smarter submit button behavior
   To reduce inadvertent early submissions, the Submit button will appear enabled but in grey on all questions except the last. On the final question, the button will appear in blue. Participants may still choose to submit before navigating through all questions, but the updated visual treatment reduces unintended clicks.
8. Enter key in Q&A pod now inserts a new line
   When replying to a question in the Q&A pod, pressing Enter will now insert a new line. Hosts must explicitly select Reply publicly or Reply privately to send the response. This prevents accidental submission of incomplete replies.
9. Accessibility improvements across rooms and connect central
   Multiple fixes have been made to improve accessibility across the in-room experience as well as in Connect Central.
