What's new in Adobe Connect Application 2025.8
Enhanced Screen Sharing with Chromium Framework
The app now leverages the Chromium framework for screen sharing, replacing the previous native OS (for both macOS and Windows) based implementation. This change brings notable performance improvements, offering a smoother and more reliable screen sharing experience.
Key Changes:
Application Sharing Deprecated
Previously, users could restrict sharing to all windows of a specific application. For example, sharing only the Excel application and switching between open workbooks. This feature is no longer available. Users can continue to share either:
- Share a specific window, such as an individual Excel workbook
- Share their entire screen
Updated Behavior for Admin-Controlled Restrictions
- Window Sharing: Applications blocked by administrators (as configured in Connect Central Admin – Compliance and Control settings) will not be available for selection.
- Full Screen Sharing: Blocked applications will no longer be redacted with a black overlay. They will appear as-is when sharing the entire screen.
