No. Acrobat Reader is a free, standalone app with additional premium features available when you purchase a subscription. Available subscriptions include Adobe Acrobat Reader premium (in-app purchase), Adobe Acrobat Export PDFAdobe Acrobat PDF PackAdobe Acrobat Standard DC, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, or Adobe Acrobat DC for Enterprise.

Premium features and subscription management

To access premium app features, you need to purchase a subscription to one of the following products: Adobe Acrobat Reader premium (in-app purchase), Acrobat Export PDF, Acrobat PDF Pack, Acrobat Standard DC, Acrobat Pro DC, or Acrobat DC for Enterprise.

If you try to use a tool or feature and it is not available or if the Acrobat Reader app asks you to subscribe, it's easy to upgrade by following these instructions:

  1. Tap .

  2. Tap Subscriptions or Manage subscriptions.

  3. To add the Acrobat Reader mobile premium subscription, tap Try Now, then Start Trial & Subscribe on the following screen. If you haven't signed in or created an account, you will be prompted to do so before purchase. (The workflow may vary on Samsung devices.)

You will be charged for the mobile subscription with premium features at the time of purchase unless you sign-up for a free trial. If you signed up for a free trial, then your payment method will be charged only at the end of the free trial unless you cancel before the free trial ends. For example, if you make an in-app purchase with a seven-day free trial, you will be charged on the eighth day when the free trial ends. You will subsequently be charged on a recurring monthly or annual basis depending on the type of subscription you have purchased.

At any time, you can upgrade from a free to a paid subscription with an in-app purchase of Adobe Acrobat Reader premium. If you have an existing subscription to Acrobat PDF Pack, Acrobat Standard DC, Acrobat Pro DC, or Acrobat DC for Enterprise, you will have access to premium mobile features as well. Please note that in the case of Acrobat Export PDF, you will only have access to the Export PDF tool on mobile.

Do the following to restore your subscription:

  1. Tap .

  2. Tap Subscriptions or Manage subscriptions.

  3. Tap Restore Purchases.

Apple manages the Acrobat Reader premium subscription purchased from the Apple App Store.

At any time before auto-cancellation, choose My page > Receipts > Items tab > [your subscription name] > Unsubscribe. Verify that the cancellation email is sent to you.

Using the Acrobat Reader mobile app

Yes. Files opened with the Acrobat Reader mobile app are automatically saved to your local device. To easily access them from all your devices, simply save your document to Adobe Document Cloud by signing in or creating a free Document Cloud account.

By creating an account and signing in, you can:

  • Pick up where you left off: Store, access, and backup files in the cloud with 2GB of free storage.
  • Work from anywhere: Share files, give feedback, fill and sign files, and get more done from virtually anywhere.
  • Replace ink signatures: Sync your signature to your profile and get forms and contracts completed in record time.

Yes. The Acrobat Reader mobile app allows you to share ideas and feedback with mobile-friendly commenting and markup tools that keep the original document intact. Add comments, text, drawings, underlines, strikethroughs, or sticky notes — all from your mobile device.

Yes. You can use the free Fill & Sign tool to complete your form and add your signature to any document.

If you collect signatures from others as a part of your business processes, consider subscribing to Acrobat Pro DC with e-sign or advanced e-sign and downloading the Adobe Sign mobile app. With it, you can request signatures from others, track the entire process, and manage signed documents from your computer, a browser, or your mobile device - while meeting enterprise-level security and compliance requirements.

Yes, you can send files to others for review and collect comments in a single file. Tap the Share icon when viewing your file, enter your recipients' names or email addresses, and select Allow comments. You can also set a review deadline and send a customized message to your recipients.

Yes. With a subscription to Acrobat Reader premium (in-app purchase), Acrobat PDF Pack, Acrobat Standard DC, or Acrobat Pro DC, you can quickly add or change text and images or combine and re-organize pages with the mobile app. If you are already a subscriber, you need to sign in to access premium features.

To create a scan, tap on the blue "+" button on your Home screen or Files tab, then select Scan.

Scans that you've created using Adobe Scan and saved to Adobe Document Cloud can be found by going to Files, then selecting Locations > Document Cloud. To download the latest version of Adobe Scan, visit the Google Play Store or the iTunes App Store.
