Run Illustrator faster in native mode on Apple computers having the Apple silicon M1 chip.

Illustrator now runs natively on Apple computers with the Apple silicon M1 chip that performs faster than the similarly configured previous generation systems.

Known differences and limitations

Some of the features like Adobe Bridge in Illustrator menus and legacy third-party (Intel-only) plug-ins are unavailable in the native mode. To use these features, you have to run Illustrator in Rosetta emulation mode.

Features not available in the native mode

Feature Workaround
Legacy third-party (Intel-only) plug-ins 
 Intel-based plug-ins will not work in ARM native mode in Illustrator. Run Intel-based plug-ins with Illustrator on Rosetta until your plug-in provider delivers Apple silicon-compatible versions.
Adobe Bridge is not available in Illustrator menus

Open Illustrator using Rosetta emulation mode.
