Remove blemishes using Quick Actions

Learn how to remove skin blemishes using AI-powered Quick Actions.

Use the Skin feature in the Retouch panel to automatically detect and remove blemishes from portraits. Lightroom on the web uses AI to identify blemishes and applies adjustments that you can further refine using Refine controls.

Open a photo containing one or more people in Detail view.

From the tools panel, select Quick actions.

Scroll to view the Retouch panel, If multiple people appear in the photo, do one of the following:

  • Select All people to apply edits to every individual.
  • Select the person you want to apply retouch to from the thumbnail list.

Toggle on the Skin option, and wait while Lightroom detects and removes blemishes from the selected person.

Select Refine to open the Blemishes enhancement tools in the Remove panel.

To manage the blemish removal effect, do the following:

  • Adjust the Amount slider to control the strength of the blemish removal effect.
  • Adjust the Fade slider to control the visibility of the blemish removal effect.
Tip

Deselect Remove blemishes if you don’t want blemishes removed. You can also select or deselect the Soften skin option and manage skin texture using the slider.

Select Refine in the Blemishes panel, adjust the Brush Size slider as needed, and do one of the following:

  • Select Remove to manually fix blemishes missed during the AI-assisted adjustment.
  • Select Restore and brush over areas you want to revert to the original image.

Select Done to save your changes.
