Feature summary | Adobe Media Encoder (April 2019 release)

Adobe Media Encoder now includes the following performance enhancements:

• HEVC playback on Windows is smoother with new 10-bit hardware decoding and more format-specific hardware decoding on macOS means better performance for H.264 and HEVC on that platform.
• RED footage plays better with new RED Metal acceleration.

Frame Replacement for Decode Errors

Instead of inserting red frames for decode errors, Adobe Media Encoder now replaces problem frames with a copy of the adjacent frame, smoothing out the issue so you can edit your content without distraction red frames and export pristine footage in your completed projects.

New options to export captions

New export options for captions give editors more controls for exporting to third-party applications for an easier caption workflow.

New file format support

Adobe Media Encoder now supports the following new file formats:

• You can now import native Sony Venice V3 files into Adobe Media Encoder.
• Audio editing is now streamlined with new support for 32-bit AIFF media. Now you can import 16-bit and 32-bit AIFF with extra steps converting media.
