Projects
The Projects section displays your recent projects so you can quickly continue editing. Select a project to open it and continue where you left off. You can also select the More options icon on a project to access additional project actions.
YouTube Shorts templates
The YouTube Shorts templates section provides ready-to-use templates designed for short-form video. Templates include music, effects, and pre-designed edits that you can customize with your own media. Select a template to preview it and start creating your own YouTube Short.
Editing workspace
When you open or create a project, you enter the editing workspace. Here, you can arrange and edit your clips, add audio and text, apply effects and transitions, enhance speech, adjust color, and use generative AI tools.
Top bar
Use the controls at the top of the workspace to navigate and manage your project.

Preview
The Preview area displays your video as you edit. Use the playback controls below the preview to move through your project and preview your edits.

Timeline
The Timeline is where you arrange and edit your clips. Your video, audio, text, and other elements appear as tracks that you can trim, move, and adjust. Use the playhead to navigate to a specific point in your project. The timeline also displays the duration and position of your edits.
Editing tools
The toolbar at the bottom of the workspace gives you quick access to the tools you need to build your video.
