HTML content inserted or edited in an Adobe InDesign document shows a static image instead of a preview.
When you insert or edit HTML code in Adobe InDesign, the Insert/Edit HTML dialog box displays a static placeholder image instead of a live preview. You’ll view the message Code snippet preview generation is temporarily unavailable.
However, the images or graphics added through the Insert/Edit HTML option will retain the original layout and dimensions and display the right image or graphic after you export the InDesign file.
Note:
Starting with InDesign release 21.5, the HTML Preview plugin is no longer required to generate HTML previews. If the plugin is installed, InDesign continues to work normally. If the plugin isn't installed, InDesign no longer displays an error and can generate previews without it.
