Puppet Warp lets you twist and distort parts of your artwork, such that the transformations appear natural. You can add, move, and rotate pins to seamlessly transform your artwork into different variations using the Puppet Warp tool in Illustrator.

  1. Select the artwork you want to transform.

  2. Select the Puppet Warp tool from the toolbar.

  3. By default, Illustrator identifies the appropriate areas to transform your artwork and automatically add pins to the artwork to warp the art in the best way. This feature is enabled by default when the Puppet Warp tool is selected. To disable this feature, deselect the Enable Content Aware Defaults option in the Edit Preferences > General (Windows) or Illustrator CC Preferences General (Mac OS) menu.

You can also add more pins by clicking the areas you want to transform or anchor. Three or more pins are required for good results. To delete the pins, press the Delete key.

    Merk:

    • To select multiple pins, Shift-click them or choose Select All Pins from the Control panel.
    • To remove the selected pins, press the Delete key.
    • To constrain the transformation of your artwork around the selected pin, press Alt while dragging it.

  5. To twist the artwork, select a pin and then position the cursor near to, but not over the pins. When a dotted circle appears, drag to visually rotate the mesh.
