Content Synchronizer shows high CPU usage on Windows

Last updated on 17 Oct 2025

Learn how to resolve CPU performance issues when running the Adobe Content Synchronizer.

CoreSync.exe is the name of the installer app for Adobe Content Synchronizer. The CoreSync.exe process should not impact CPU performance when your machine is idle. Syncing folders with the Creative Cloud may take up some CPU for a few seconds. But if you see continuous high CPU usage by CoreSync.exe, it may indicate that it's not genuine. Ensure that the CoreSync.exe running on your machine is genuine.

Content Synchronizer isn't genuine

If the CoreSync.exe running on your device shows high CPU usage, it's possibly a malicious app that should be removed from your device.

Right-click the taskbar and open the Task Manager.

Select the Details tab in the left panel.

Search for Creative Cloud.exe.

Right-click the process, and select End task.

Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the following processes:

  • AdobeDesktopService.exe
  • AdobeCEFHelper.exe
  • AdobeInstaller.exe
  • AdobeUpdateService.exe
  • CCLibrary.exe
  • CCXProcess.exe
  • CoreSync.exe
  • AdobeIPCBroker.exe
  • AdobeNotificationClient.exe
  • CreativeCloudHelper.exe

Right-click the malicious copy of Adobe Content Synchronizer and select Open file location.

Locate the root folder, right-click it, and select Delete to remove it.

Launch the Creative Cloud desktop app and wait for it to update.

Note

To prevent future malicious attacks on your computer, ensure you have installed an active and up-to-date anti-virus software.
